Michael Bertram

How my journey began…

Michael Bertram’s life has taken a transformative turn, from the beat of a police officer to the heart of compassionate communication. At the core of Michael's story are values that echo through every interaction – caring, developing bonds, and trust.

From Cop to Communicator: A Journey of Transformation

In the bustling streets of Lake Macquarie, Michael Bertram once wore the uniform of a dedicated police officer. His days were spent maintaining law and order, and while his commitment to the community was unwavering, Michael felt an undeniable pull towards a different kind of service—one that transcended the boundaries of law enforcement.

The Catalyst for Change

It was a chance encounter while volunteering for Orange Sky Laundry that everything changed for Michael. Engaging with individuals on a deeper level, he discovered the power of communication in fostering understanding, empathy, and unity. The seed of a new calling was planted, and Michael's passion for connecting with people began to take root.

Core Values

01 — Caring

At the heart of Michael's approach is genuine care for the well-being of others. Every conversation, every interaction is infused with a sense of empathy and understanding. In the world of communication, caring is the cornerstone, creating a space where people feel heard and valued.

02 — Developing Bonds

Building meaningful connections is an art. Through individual sessions and groups, he helps individuals forge bonds that transcend the superficial. Michael believes that strong relationships are the bedrock of an environment where communication skills can grow.

03 — Trust

Trust is the currency of effective communication. Drawing from his background in law enforcement, Michael understands the importance of trust in any relationship. By modelling open dialogue and transparent communication, he cultivates an environment where children and young people can flourish, bridge gaps and foster communication skills suited to them.

04 — Fun

Amidst the serious business of communication, Michael insists that people have fun. Fun and laughter is a universal language, where people learn. At Speech Club fostering a positive atmosphere can lead to more open and authentic interactions. Our sessions are designed to not only improve communication but also entertain, making the journey of self-discovery an enjoyable one.
